Peepers: I Say . . . You Say Review
Peepers: I Say . . . You Say is a unique and creative application that teaches opposites as well as vocabulary for younger kids. I found this app to be really engaging and enjoyable. This app both includes an “automatic” storybook section with narration and automatic page turning for when your child is looking to be read to, but also an “interactive” section that lets your child participate, playing along with the narration in a game of “I Say…You Say,” choosing the correct opposite to finish each sentence. There is also a “Meet the Peeps” section that introduces the various odd-ball characters that you will meet throughout the pages of this book, each with a short poem of its own.
My two and half year old son and I enjoy the whimsy of this book’s creative drawings, sound effects, and characters which illustrate each opposite combination. I appreciate that this book has a rhyming beat, making it easy to anticipate the word that is needed to be chosen in the “interactive” section. I also like the ease of use that the interactive section has to offer. My son had no trouble sliding the correct word to where it belongs to finish the sentence, showing a real sense of pride once he finished this section of the application. I think toddlers and preschoolers will have a lot of fun with this as they learn the concept of opposites
