Family Matters
The Family Matters app contains a variety of entertaining and thought provoking questions and activities that can be used to promote compelling conversations or to just entertain. Topics are tailored for use in different venues such as a restaurant, a doctor’s office and a car/road trip. This app helps to promote more than lively and entertaining discussions within families; the open-ended questions and activities can also help to facilitate creativity, imagination, critical thinking, and a better sense of understanding for all participants. It’s one of the few apps I’ve experienced that’s all inclusive – not just one or two players – and it’s appropriate for young and old alike. Not all of the questions or activities in Family Matters will resonate with every user, and there aren’t a lot of bells and whistles with the interface, but I’m certain most people will find value in what this simple yet brilliant app has to offer.
(As a side note, in December, Weiner Family Studios will be donating half of all proceeds from the sale of Family Matters to Ronald McDonald House Charities. Their goal is to support families who want to spend time with their sick children during the holidays.)

"Your app was a lifesaver this weekend. My mother brought me and the kids

Anywhere, anytime but always having fun...
We built this application to help us parent more effectively. We were tired of family dinners where the conversation consisted of "How was your day?"... "fine".
This is not a video game designed to keep kids busy. It is a tool to help you communicate more effectively with your children. If you enjoy this please leave us a review! 5-star ratings motivate us to work on even more modules.
What A Family Matters(tm) gives you is a set of questions and conversation starting activities designed to help you communicate more effectively with your children. We found it leads to more and deeper conversations with our kids and we think it could do the same for you.
Some of the questions and activities are simple - these help children build confidence. Some are deeper and probing. There are close to a thousand questions and activities designed to engage all family members of all ages.
Unlike other applications that quiz or provide facts, this tool is venue-driven. This means the activities are geared toward your location. We currently cover common places you may engage in conversation or need to pass the time such as restaurants, Dr. waiting rooms, airports and planes or on long road trips. Of course there is a general category for use around the dinner table or practically anywhere you have a few minutes to spend together.
Future planned venues include school, waiting in lines (parents, how many times do you have to deal with this one?), and more.
